This is the Mexico retro football shirt 1980's by COPA Football for adults. The back of the retro shirt is provided with the print of Sanchez 9. From 1977 to 1994 Hugo Sánchez was a member of the national team, where he earned 58 caps and scored 29 goals. He participated in three FIFA World Cup tournaments and was part of the Mexican team that reached the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup. Famous for his acrobatic goal celebrations during his club and international career, Sánchez was the first notable exponent of the backflip.
The Mexico retro football shirt is based on the Mexico home shirt from the 1980s. For Mexico, the World Cup in their own country in 1986 was reasonably successful. Just like in 1970, Mexico reached the quarter-finals. The Mexico football shirt has short sleeves and is predominantly green. Nice v-neck in the colours of the Mexican flag (green, white, red). The ends of the sleeves also contain these Mexican colours. The left chest contains a logo with the name Mexico and a flag of the country. Ideal shirt for the real Mexico fan! The COPA shirts have a normal fit and are delivered in a luxury gift box from COPA. Material: 100% cotton.
During the World Cup of 1982 and 1986, Mexico did not have a great team, but the fanatical audience in the Aztec Stadium was a very big advantage. Miracles were expected from striker Hugo Sanchez, but the striker of Real Madrid could not handle the pressure. In Group B with Paraguay, Belgium and Iraq, Mexico finished first in the group. In the eighth finals, Bulgaria was defeated 2-0. In the Aztec Stadium, Negrete and Servin scored the goals. The highlight of this match was the acrobatic bicycle kick by Manuel Negrete. In the quarter finals, Mexico lost on penalties to West Germany. The atmosphere between the two teams was grim and many fouls were made. After a red card for Thomas Berthold, Mexico seemed to be winning the match, but Harald Schumacher distinguished himself with a number of beautiful saves. After the red card for Mexican Aguire, Mexico's balance was over and the country dragged itself to the penalty kicks. The West Germans shot all the penalties and Schumacher stopped two of them.
