The 2002 FIFA World Cup was the 17th edition and was held in Japan and South Korea. It was the first edition to be held in Asia and also the first World Cup to be hosted by two countries. The tournament lasted from Sunday May 31 to June 30, 2002. A total of 32 countries took part in the tournament and football was played in 20 different host cities/stadiums. Brazil won the World Cup by beating Germany 0-2 in the final. Ronaldo was the big man during the final and scored both goals.
